FROSTival Downtown Gallery Hop

Gather your friends together for a winter evening of gallery hopping in downtown Fredericton. View the latest exhibitions, meet the artists and gallery owners and directors and enjoy light refreshments and music. Participating galleries include Gallery 78, Beaverbrook Art Gallery, The Artisan District, Gallery on Queen and the three gallery spaces at Charlotte Street Arts Centre, plus a pop up FROSTival Art Curio exhibit upstairs at The Cap!
Gallery admissions are free of charge during the gallery hop.
Gallery 78 presents “Solitude” – a group exhibition featuring the work of Atlantic Canadian artists. As you stroll through the gallery, enjoy the tranquility of a walk in the winter woods, the quiet beauty of a sunrise, the wind blowing in the trees, relax with a book by the lake, listen for the ocean waves on the shore all while enjoying hot chocolate and cookies.
If you are looking to express your creativity, there will be Valentine’s Day card making as well as an opportunity to make your own flat needle felting creation.
Beaverbrook Art Gallery – the launch of Expressions in Excellence: Voices from Black Artists Speaker Series! To celebrate the launch, DJ Wakanda will be performing at the gallery at 5:30 pm, and at 6:30 pm, Dr. Darlene M Strong will be the first speaker in the series.
The Artisan District – meet talented watercolour artist Dawn DeCourcey, try your hand at painting, enjoy some treats and have a chance to win a gift certificate to the shop, all while enjoying art from the Maritimes.
Gallery on Queen – explore the Gallery and following the Gallery Hop, at 7:30pm, Darby Minott Bradford will launch their second collection of poetry, Bottom Rail on Top, a rolling call and response between antebellum Black history and the present that mediates it. The evening will feature readings from Bradford as will local poets Rebecca Salazar and Jenna Lyn Albert. Westminster Books will be selling books.
FROSTival Art Curio pop up – an exhibition of creativity, talent, and unique expressions from 10 artists, at 362 Queen St., upstairs above the Cap. Discover new artwork and meet the exhibiting artist. Live painting, refreshments and door prizes!
