Symphony NB: Fauré’s Requiem

April 8 @ 7:30 pm 9:30 pm

Symphony New Brunswick and Choeur Louisbourg invite audiences on a profound musical exploration of human emotion, delving into the depths of loss, transformation, and hope. This extraordinary concert at the Fredericton Playhouse presents two masterpieces that eloquently speak to the human condition: Richard Strauss’ haunting “Metamorphosen” and Gabriel Fauré’s beloved Requiem.

Under the direction of Mélanie Léonard, the performance promises to illuminate how music can help us understand our most complex emotions – revealing not only the immense sadness of loss, but also the transformative power of hope. As Léonard explains, these works invite listeners to reflect deeply on how we experience and ultimately transcend profound emotional landscapes.

Featuring the exceptional talents of soprano Meghan Lindsay and baritone Jesse Blumberg, this concert represents what SNB President Reid Parker calls “music-making at the highest order of excellence” – a testament to the artistic vitality of New Brunswick’s premier symphony.
