Fredericton Region Museum

The Officers’ Quarters building located in Officers’ Square is home to the Fredericton Region Museum.  The Museum was founded in 1934 by the York Sunbury Historical Society, which delves into the exciting history and diverse heritage of central New Brunswick through exhibits and activities.

We caught up with the Museum’s Executive Director, Alena Krasnikova, who filled us in on what’s happening at the Museum, and this summer there’s lots on the go!

  • Picnic Concerts on the Balcony series
    • Wednesdays from 1-1:30pm,   “The News from the Front” radio play, featuring songs from the 1940s, performed by Frantically Atlantic
    • Fridays from 12-1pm, rotating between local string quartet “MEKA” who play classical music and pieces from the museum’s collection, and Frantically Atlantic.
  • Virtual self-guided walking tour of Downtown, exploring the history of Black Loyalists who settled here over 200 years ago.  Brought together through a partnership with historian Jennifer Dow.
