Science East Science Centre

One of the most unique tourist attractions in Canada! New Brunswick’s science centre provides all ages with over 150 hands-on and interactive exhibits exploring science through technology, optical illusions, energy, geology, dinosaurs, anatomy, insects, deep space and more.

Located in a heritage building which served as a jail for 154 years, the basement level is dedicated to this intriguing history and reveals the jail’s connection to an important milestone in forensic science.

During the summer months, Science East offers daily live science shows at 11am and 2pm and Atlantic Canada’s only outdoor science playground – making it an excellent family destination, rain or shine. Science East’s gift boutique is filled with science toys and games for the perfect memento to remember your visit.

Services include programs, workshops and science demos for visiting schools, community groups and motorcoach tours (all group bookings must be made in advance). Science East also offers Science Sleepovers, birthday parties and children’s science camps during March Break and throughout the summer. The creative atmosphere of the science centre provides inspiring and well-equipped rental spaces with a full menu of technical equipment for meetings, team-building and special occasions.

Open year-round, 7 days/week. All services and programs available in French and English.

Hours:

Summer (June 1 – August 31): Monday-Saturday 10am – 5pm; Sunday 12pm-4pm

Winter (September 1 – May 31): Monday-Friday 12pm-5pm; Saturday 10am-5pm; Sunday 12pm-4pm
